Rural Health Team is an allied health service based in the Upper Hunter of NSW. Proudly providing services that are meaningful and engaging, Rural Health Team provides therapy for those aged from 12 months to aged care.
Rural Health Team provides multiple services and several group programs in the Upper Hunter throughout the year. See our services for more information on group programs and other services available.
Our Team
Jemma – Occupational Therapist/Director
Jemma is a certified Occupational Therapist, nationally registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and AHPRA.
Jemma has always had an interest in helping people and working with all people of all ages. Jemma has been providing occupational therapy services through the public and private sectors in the Upper Hunter since she graduated with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Newcastle in 2013. Jemma is well known amongst the sporting community in the Upper Hunter for her sporting involvement and achievements. Jemma has enjoyed participating and excelling in many sports including netball, basketball, touch football, rugby union, athletics and horse riding.
Jemma combined her two passions of helping people through occupational therapy and sport in 2017 when she first brought Sense Rugby to the Upper Hunter. She aims to help foster a love of movement in all those that she works with.
In July 2022, Jemma completed her training to provide Equine Assisted OT and is very excited to be able to provide this service to our local area.
Gabby – Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead
Gabby is a certified Occupational Therapist, nationally registered with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and AHPRA. Gabby grew up in Scone and is now living away in New Zealand and working with our team remotely. Her dedication to our local community continues and she is supporting our lovely clients via telehealth. Gabby is an exceptional OT who focuses on our paediatric caseload with prior experience in areas such as trauma informed care, parent coaching and emotional regulation.
Hannah – Occupational Therapist
Hannah is one of our wonderful OT’s. She loves all things that involve horses and focused her 4th year studies on developing a Hippotherapy program (therapy on a horse). While she enjoys supporting people of all ages, Hannah has a special interest providing services to adults aged 18 years to 64 years. Hannah is trained in equine therapy and has a passionate for supporting our farm based therapy program, working with both adults and children.
Sherie – Practice Manager
Sherie is our fantastic practice manager who supports our business to thrive and focus on the wellbeing of the Scone community. She works for us part time, and when she isn’t at work she enjoys spending time with her beautiful family. Sherie has many years experience supporting rural communities, and is the friendly voice on the phone you will hear when reaching out to us.
Jay – Allied Health Assistant
Jay joined our team in 2023 and comes with loads of experience. Jay completed a Diploma of Psychology in her home country, Scotland before moving to Australia. You will either see or hear from Jay with any enquiries or even at consultations helping the other OT’s out.
Amy – Allied Health Assistant
Amy joined our team in 2024 and comes with loads of experience. Amy is training to be an Occupational Therapist, and is passionate about helping children and adults work towards their everyday independent skills whilst working under the guidance of our wonderful OTs!
Rhiannon – Exercise Physiologist
Rhiannon is a local, experienced exercise physiologist (EP) with previous experience working in outback Australia. She works with all ages from 3 years up all the way up to supporting Aged Care clients.
Rachel – Speech Pathologist
Rachel is an amazing speech pathologist who is supporting our Upper Hunter clients by telehealth.
